The successor to the OnePlus Watch 2 was shown in an initial image around two weeks ago, which revealed a slightly revised design: the next-generation smartwatch will have narrower screen edges and a digital crown to make scrolling through apps and zooming in images and maps easier. Android Authority has now uncovered the first clues about the health features of the OnePlus Watch 3 in the latest version of the OHealth app.
According to this, the OnePlus Watch 3 will have an electrocardiogram (ECG) for detecting cardiac arrhythmia, as well as a skin temperature sensor. This works in a similar way to the Apple Watch Series 10, but instead of displaying the exact body temperature, users only receive information on whether their body temperature is higher or lower than usual during sleep. The skin temperature sensor is primarily intended to make sleep and cycle tracking more precise. Another new feature is the so-called "60-second checkup", which collects data from all sensors in one minute to provide an overview of the current measured values.
It is unclear whether all these features will be available on the regular OnePlus Watch 3, as the app indicates that a more expensive OnePlus Watch 3 Pro will also be offered. The company is also said to be planning an Oppo Watch X2, an Oppo Watch X2 (46 mm) and an Oppo Watch X Pro. While hardly any details are known about these watches so far, the OnePlus Watch 3 is said to be based on Google Wear OS and equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB flash storage and a 500 mAh battery.
