Garmin Fenix 8: New stable smartwatch update appears to be on the way
The Garmin Fenix 8, Fenix 8 Solar, Enduro 3 and Fenix E smartwatches appear to be on the verge of another stable update. This would follow the software version 12.22 update, which arrived at the end of November with over 100 changes for these wearables.
The hint came in a recent post on the Garmin forum when the company announced Beta Version 12.35 for these models. The change log solely stated that the ECG and Dive features were enabled, tools which are typically disabled during beta testing. This indicates that Garmin is planning to roll out a stable version of the 12.35 update to all users in the near future.
Compared to version 12.22, 12.35 would be a minor update. So far, beta testers have experienced a wider range of bug fixes. These have tackled issues like crashes with the Connect IQ app or Map Manager on GCM, missing phone call alert tones and unexpectedly silent alarms. Also seen during beta testing was the restriction of the Workout Execution Score, making it available only for running and cycling workouts. It is unclear whether all of these changes will roll out in the public version of 12.35 or precisely when the release will be shared with users of the Fenix 8, Fenix E and Enduro 3 smartwatches (currently $851.41 at Amazon).
