Garmin has released a new update for the Descent G1 dive computer wearable, System Software 17.02. The previous stable release for the smartwatch, version 16.10, arrived in August, bringing Morning Report and Training Readiness to the model.
Software Version 17.02 offers a range of improvements and bug fixes for Descent G1 users. The release notes state that Garmin has changed the default End Dive Delay to 5:00, as well as improving what happens when the wearable is out of memory. The company has resolved an issue where the distance to the last shot position was measured incorrectly, and the flickering of the dial on the strength rest page has been sorted out. Garmin has tackled an issue with barometer calibration and a bug that meant that longer course names could not be displayed. The change log also notes that incident detection for MTB has been disabled.
On top of this, there are updates for text and mobile translations. In a post on Garmin’s forum, the company confirmed that Software Version 17.02 was now available for all users of the Descent G1 dive computer (currently $539.99 at Amazon). The update should be installed automatically, but you can also manually trigger it via the Garmin Connect app or Garmin Express.
