Zepp Health has released another update for the Amazfit Balance smartwatch. Version 3.25.5.5 is 8.53MB in size and has been reported by various users on Reddit. While the change log is long, this is actually a relatively minor update.
The only new addition to the release notes is a line indicating that the Zepp team has amended the step-counting algorithm for some situations. This follows recent user reports that, following the OTA 8 update, or version 3.25.5.3, the step count was off. For example, one owner of the smartwatch said that washing their hands added as many as 40 steps. Despite the change log indicating that this latest release resolves the issue, several users suggest that they have not noticed a difference after the update.
The other new features and improvements listed in the release notes are the same as for version 3.25.5.3. These include a new Strength Training Quality Assessment, automatic start for running and walking activities, and three new workout modes: Ski mountaineering, Dog walking and Snow shovelling. The full change log is provided below. If you want to install the version 3.25.5.3 update, you can do so via the Zepp app by going to Profile > My Devices > Amazfit Balance > System Update. The Amazfit Balance smartwatch is currently selling at Amazon US for $147.60.
