Garmin has announced beta version 13.12 for the Fenix 8 (curr. $999.99 at Amazon) and related smartwatches, which include the Fenix 8 Solar, the Fenix E and the Enduro 3. The update appeared a few days after the company released a stable update, version 12.35, for these wearables.
The change log for the beta version 13.12 update is relatively long, listing 40 amendments for these smartwatches. Additions include new Sail Race and Jumpmaster activities, a Trolling Motor app, and the Connect IQ (CIQ) System 8, for the latest apps and watch faces. There are enhancements for some activities, like a Stress Card for the Gaming activity summary and a Respiration Graph for Meditation. On top of this, the watches now support Nautical units and the use of a heart rate monitor (HRM) to calculate pace and distance.
The release notes also list many bug fixes, addressing issues where the touchscreen input could not be disabled, apps which could not be accessed via the Recents Menu and the Morning Report’s calendar card appearing blank. You can find the complete change log in the screenshot below. If you wish to install beta version 13.12, you can do so by going to the Main Menu > System > Software Update > Check For Updates.
