Garmin has announced the public beta version 22.12 update for the Forerunner 165, Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 965 smartwatches. This is the first release in the 22.xx testing cycle, which begins a couple of weeks after stable software version 21.20 landed.
Version 22.12 is said to offer improvements for the Garmin Run Coach and Garmin Cycling Coach plans, with accompanying strength workouts. The Training Readiness score is now updated throughout the day, presumably for a more accurate reading. The update also brings new connection type information for paired sensors, and there is support for additional Connect IQ apps and watch faces. On top of this, there are bug fixes for problems with the touch functionality, customized activity alerts and Hot Keys.
Plus, improvements to icons with linked notifications are included, though only for the Forerunner 265 and the Forerunner 965. You can find a screenshot of the core change log below. Posts in the Garmin forum indicate that the beta version 22.12 update has yet to reach Forerunner users. You will be able to manually install the update by going to the Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates.
