Black Shark has launched a new smartwatch in China. Called Watch X Pro, it launched at CNY 899, which is about $123. While that's an affordable price tag, it's packed with features. Among the main highlights is a 1.75-inch AMOLED screen. This display has a resolution of 466 x 466 and a peak brightness rating of 700 nits, meaning it should be visible under different lighting conditions.
While the company says that the Watch X Pro is powered by Android, there's no mention of it running on Wear OS. So, it's likely a customized wearable OS, but the good part is that it has multiple app support, with Black Shark saying that you can download your preferred apps from the dedicated store.
The smartwatch can be connected to WiFi, and it has support for 4G connectivity, which makes it stand as an affordable alternative to some of the other LTE-enabled smartwatches (44 mm Galaxy Watch 6 curr. $218.72 on Amazon). Another interesting aspect of the Watch X Pro is the 180-degree rotating camera. It's hidden in the crown, and Black Shark says that the 2 MP sensor can capture HD pictures and videos.
This built-in camera also makes the Black Shark Watch X Pro capable of taking video calls, and the smartwatch even has calling support. Customization-wise, the wearable has more than 300 watch faces, and the straps can be replaced to get a unique outlook.
Other highlights of the Watch X Pro include a 900 mAh battery that promises to offer 75 hours of runtime, support for local music playback, and GPS. There's no word from Black Shark on when the smartwatch will make a global debut, but the company does offer most of its products in the international market.
