Casio’s budget WS1400H-8BV watch with dark display now available

Casio has revealed another WS1400H watch in the US, the WS1400H-8BV. This model, also known as the WS-1400H-8BV, arrived shortly after two other wearables in the series, which became available at the start of December: the WS1400H-2AV and the WS1400H-8AV.

The WS1400H-8BV watch has a dark gray resin casing and band, and it features a dark LCD with light figures and an amber LED backlight. The display appears to be the only differentiator between this latest model and the two which arrived last month, which have a light background with dark figures. Features include support for dual time zones, a 1/100th second stopwatch, a countdown timer and support for three alarms. The calendar is fully automatic up to the year 2099, and the watch is said to remain accurate for up to 20 seconds each month. Plus, the watch is water resistant to 10 m (~33 ft) and will run for up to 10 years on a single CR2025 battery.

You can now buy the Casio WS1400H-8BV at the brand’s online store for $29.95. The watch is also listed on the brand’s website in Singapore, though it is currently not available to purchase here. It remains to be seen whether or when these newer WS-1400H wearables could reach other markets like Europe, where Casio already sells models like the WS-1400H-1AV (currently €45 at Amazon Germany).
