A new leak from popular Japanese G-Shock enthusiast site - Great G-Shock World - has revealed details about two upcoming Casio models: the GM-2100YM-8A and GM-5600YM-8. These models, featuring metallic-inspired aesthetics, are rumored to launch this January, alongside the recently leaked watches from the GA-010 and GD-010 series.
The GM-2100YM-8A builds upon the popular octagonal bezel design of the 2100 series, known for its modern and minimalist styling. From the leaked images, it appears to feature a polished silver-tone metal case paired with a lightweight resin strap for both durability and comfort. If consistent with the series' usual features, it may include Tough Solar charging, 200m water resistance, and world time. The leak also points towards a ¥40,150 (~$255) price tag for the aforementioned watch.
The GM-5600YM-8 follows the classic square-shaped 5600 design, offering a similar metallic silver aesthetic. This model, priced slightly lower at ¥37,400 (~$237), will more than likely cater to fans of the iconic design, potentially including features such as a full-auto calendar, LED backlight, and multi-function alarms.
Both models align with Casio’s recent efforts to incorporate metal-like designs into resin-based watches, as seen in previous models like the GM-B2100D-1A, which offered a full-metal construction for the 2100 series, and the GM-5600SN-1, which featured an iridescent metal bezel combined with a resin strap.
As all these details are based on leaks, official confirmation from Casio is still pending. More updates are expected as we approach the rumored launch date.
