New Epic Games Store free game giveaway lands with $25 face value, but only for 24 hours
The Epic Games Store has now refreshed its Mystery Game giveaway, which will run alongside the storefront's Holiday Sale period until both end on January 9. For reference, Epic Games had been giving away Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles until earlier today, which its developers describe as a 'DICE-deck-building roguelike'.
However, with Epic Games swapping its free games daily over the holidays, Astrea has now returned to its retail price of $24.99. Nonetheless, TerraTech has now arrived in its place, which a leaker eventually revealed last night. For context, Payload Studios describes TerraTech as follows:
TerraTech is an open-world, sandbox adventure game, where you design and build your own creations through a mix of crafting, combat and discovery. Design vehicles from a huge library of blocks. Scavenge, craft and buy new parts to survive and become the ultimate planetary prospector.
Please note that while TerraTech retails for $24.99, it has regularly dropped below its MSRP throughout this year. Nonetheless, it is now free to add to your Epic Games library, but only until 15:59 UTC on December 22. It is also worth stressing that you do not need to download the game by that time. Instead, it will remain available to download indefinitely thereafter.
Additionally, TerraTech is playable on macOS and Windows, unlike many recent Epic Games Store giveaways. Added to that, Payload Studios recommends relatively low recommended system requirements, such as Radeon HD 5670 and GeForce GTX 260 GPUs. Please see Epic Games' listing for more details.
