We've had a steady stream of leaks pertaining to the Epic Games Store's Holiday Sale giveaway for this year, and most of them have been on point. You can check out our coverage for the past daily giveaway leaks below (with the exception of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria), alongside their official reveals:
- December 19 - Vampire Survivors (Leak, reveal)
- December 20 - Astrea: Six-Sided Oracles (Leak, reveal)
- December 21 - TerraTech (Leak, reveal)
- December 22 - Wizard of Legend (Leak)
Now, a new clue has surfaced, thanks to a reliable leaker who's also responsible for accurately predicting the aforementioned titles, hinting at the same via emojis. Take a look at the new clue (and the past clues) for yourself:
Going by the abbreviation and the emojis in the clue, the next free game appears to be Dark and Darker - Legendary Status. We arrived to this conclusion based on the abbreviation "D.D. - L.S." and the accompanying emojis provided by the leaker. The emojis include swords, bows, torches, bags of gold, and flags - all of which hint at Dark and Darker - Legendary Status, a dungeon-crawling roguelike with PvPvE elements. The clue even includes rising/falling stock emojis, which directly points towards the in-game player-driven marketplace where players can buy and sell items they find in the dungeons (since there are no fixed vendor prices). This conclusion aligns with the leaker’s history of accurate predictions and the game's themes of treasure hunting and survival in dark dungeons.
Dark and Darker, developed by Ironmace, offers players a unique multiplayer experience where teams explore dangerous dungeons filled with traps, monsters, and other adventurers. The game’s free-to-play base model is complemented by the Legendary Status DLC (further confirming the leaker's clue), which expands gameplay with features like high-level dungeons, additional character slots, and trading privileges.
To run Dark and Darker smoothly, players will need at least a 3.0 GHz Quad-Core CPU, 8 GB of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 1060 (3GB) or Radeon RX 580 (4GB) GPU. For optimal performance, a 3.6 GHz Quad-Core CPU, 16 GB of RAM, and a GeForce RTX series card or Radeon RX 5600 are recommended. The game requires 15 GB of storage space.
Given the leaker’s consistent accuracy, it’s highly likely that Dark and Darker will be the next free title revealed in the Epic Games Store’s Holiday Sale giveaway on December 23. Fans of atmospheric dungeon crawlers and roguelikes should keep an eye out for this official announcement.
