Garmin has released a new stable update, version 13.70, for three of its smartwatches. According to the release notes, there are improvements for the sensor hub and a bug fix for the Strength activity. Plus, the company has confirmed that this software is now available for all users.

The Garmin Forerunner 245, Forerunner 745 and Forerunner 945 smartwatches recently received a new stable update, software version 13.70. It is worth noting that the Garmin Forerunner 945 LTE wearable did not receive this update.

Version 13.70 is a relatively minor release. The change log includes a bug fix for the Strength activity, resolving a problem with the time display when the step exceeds an hour. Plus, there are said to be updates to external sensor support. It is unclear whether or not this is directly linked to the Sensor Hub Update 18.04, listed below. It also remains to be seen how Forerunner users will experience the benefit of this change. Another bug fix relating to pairing issues with inReach Messenger, seen in beta version 13.40, is not listed here; it is unclear why this has been omitted.

Garmin has confirmed that this update is now available for all users of the Forerunner 245, Forerunner 745 and Forerunner 945 smartwatches (currently $299.99 at Amazon). You can install software update 13.70 via the Garmin Connect Mobile app or by syncing with Garmin Express. It remains to be seen when the next beta testing cycling, expected to be 14.xx, will begin.
