Huawei Watch D2 blood pressure smartwatch makes appearance at Medica 2024
Huawei has made its first appearance at Medica 2024, where it showcased its new Watch D2 smartwatch. Medica is a trade fair hosted in Dusseldorf, Germany for healthcare and medical technology professionals.
The Huawei Watch D2 smartwatch launched in various markets worldwide in September and has already received a software update. The company claims that it is the first medically certified smartwatch offering round-the-clock blood pressure measurements. In fact, it has achieved the European Medical Devices Regulation (EU MDR) certification and has been approved by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in China. Like the older Watch D, the Watch D2 features a wrist-worn blood pressure cuff, with a slim air cushion inside the watch strap. The device also offers ECG analysis, GNSS positioning and workout tracking.
According to a reported press release, Huawei indicates that its Watch D2 wearable was positively received by Medica 2024’s attendees, including doctors and experts. Plus, the importance of wrist-based blood pressure measurement was highlighted in several keynote speeches. The Huawei Watch D2 is sold direct to customers in European countries, including Germany, where it is currently available for €399 at Amazon.
