Huawei's new Watch D2 smartwatch receives first firmware update
The Huawei Watch D2 is receiving its first global software update. The blood pressure measuring wearable launched in September with various improvements on the original model and a slimmer design.
The change log for firmware version 5.0.0.156(C00M01) for the Huawei Watch D2 reveals little about the improvements, simply stating that the system stability has been optimized in certain situations. As such, it is hard to know where users may feel the benefit of the update, with no customer reports found at the time of writing. Interestingly, users have reported a range of sizes of updates, ranging from 49.14 MB to 555 MB; it is unclear why this is the case, as the firmware version numbers and associated release notes are identical.
Presumably, as with most other Huawei smartwatch updates, firmware version 5.0.0.156 is rolling out to users in phases. If you own a Huawei Watch D2 (curr. €405.99 at Amazon Germany), you will be able to download a version of the software via the Huawei Health app. It may be worth ensuring that you have the latest version of the app installed before you begin the installation process.
