New AMOLED smartwatch refresh released with titanium bezel
A few months have passed since Suunto teased the refresh of its Race S smartwatch. Now, the company has quietly released said refresh globally, albeit seemingly only through its retail platform for the time being. By contrast, the existing Race Titanium remains available through third parties (curr. $439.20 on Amazon).
Fundamentally, the Race S Titanium features the same hardware as the regular Race S. However, the adoption of a titanium bezel has helped the new variant shed a few grammes compared to its stainless steel counterpart. According to Suunto, the Race S Titanium tips the scales at 53 g compared to 60 g for the Race S Stainless Steel. Consequently, the former is almost 12% lighter than the latter.
In summary, the Race S Titanium still has a 1.32-inch AMOLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass within a 45 mm frame. Additionally, the smartwatch offers 32 GB of storage, a multi-band GNSS module and up to nine days of battery when left in smartwatch mode. Currently, the Race S Titanium is available in Titanium Canary and Titanium Graphite finishes for £395 in the UK, $449 in the US and €449 in the Eurozone. Please note that while Suunto has already started selling its new Race S in the UK and the US, it will not fully release the new wearable in the Eurozone until October 15.
