Garmin releases new update for all Forerunner smartwatches with fresh bug fix
Garmin has released another new update for its recent batches of Forerunner smartwatches, shortly after issuing a rare beta update to the older Forerunner 245, Forerunner 745 and Forerunner 945. This time, the Forerunner 165, Forerunner 255, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 965 are in line for new software, which is currently undergoing a phased rollout.
Unfortunately, Software Version 20.32 contains no new features. By contrast, an equivalent update for the Enduro 3, Fenix E and Fenix 8 (curr. $1,099.99 on Amazon) comes with fifty new features, improvements and bug fixes. According to Garmin, Software Version 20.32 for Forerunner 55 and Forerunner 65 smartwatches contains just one bug fix rather than any new features or improvements in other regards.
Specifically, the new update is said to resolve another graphics issue when using Varia Radar. As it stands, Garmin reports that System Software 20.32 should have reached roughly 20% of eligible smartwatches. If your model remains on older software for whatever reason, you can manually trigger the download of System Software 20.32 by heading to Menu, System, Software Update and then selecting 'Check for Updates'.
