Reports suggest that many Garmin smartwatch users are currently experiencing issues with the watch face. A bug linked to Garmin Connect can cause the wearables to freeze or crash. At the time of writing, despite the company acknowledging the issue, only a temporary solution has been provided.

Many Garmin smartwatch models are suffering from watch face related crashes, according to recent reports. Developers have been flagging the issues for months on the company’s dedicated forum, sharing details on the problems that their customers are facing.

The bug seems to occur during Storage.setValue() calls to save data, which occasionally causes some watch faces to freeze and display the Garmin Connect IQ logo. Apparently, restarting the wearable resolves the issue temporarily, but the watch face can stop working again at any time. You could also try using a different watch face. It affects many smartwatches, including the Venu 3, Fenix 6/7/8 Series devices, and various Forerunner models, such as the Forerunner 265 (currently $349.99 at Amazon). The problem has been linked to recent updates, such as version 20.26 for the Forerunner 965 and version 11.89 for the Fenix 8. It 

In one thread on the Garmin forum, a developer explained that they had observed at least 400,000 crashes since the end of August, suggesting that a great number of users are experiencing this bug. Garmin representatives have acknowledged the issue and confirmed that the company is working on a solution. However, there is no indication as to when this could roll out.
