The Galaxy A56 isn't expected to arrive until the end of Q1 2025, but a leak has revealed the design of the mid-range smartphone. The phone will largely look like its predecessor, but sport a redesigned camera housing on the back.

The next generation of Samsung's Galaxy A series of smartphones has already arrived with the launch of the Galaxy A06, Galaxy A16 5G, and Galaxy A16 4G. In the coming months, Samsung should follow them up with the Galaxy A26, Galaxy A36, and the Galaxy A56. While we already know what the Galaxy A36 looks like, a new leak has provided an early look at the upper mid-range Galaxy A56 before it launches.

The first look at the Galaxy A56's design comes in the form of images based on CAD renders, and they show that the upcoming phone will differ from its predecessor — the Galaxy A55 — with respect to the design of the rear cameras.

The Galaxy A56 will have a flat display with a centered punch hole for the front-facing camera. It will also have a flat frame albeit with a raised portion on the right side where the power and volume buttons reside. However, Samsung will ditch the separate camera islands of the Galaxy A55 for a single pill-shaped one that houses three cameras.

From the renders, it is shown that the camera island protrudes quite a bit and is covered with black glass, This is different from the camera island of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 (curr. available on Amazon for $1,320) which matches the color of the phone. The Galaxy A56 will also have a flat back according to the images.

The Galaxy A56 is not expected to arrive until March 2025 considering the Galaxy A54 and the Galaxy A55 were announced in March 2023 and March 2024 respectively. When it does arrive, it is expected to support 45W fast charging, a first for the Galaxy A series. It has also been reported that it will have an Exynos 1580 processor under the hood.

Other features that are expected to make a comeback include an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, an under-display fingerprint scanner, and an IP67 dust and water resistance rating. It is also expected to get improved software support considering the Galaxy A16 will receive 6 years of Android OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates, an improvement from the Galaxy A15's 4 years of OS upgrades and security updates.
