Samsung unveils Galaxy A16 4G: Helio G99 chip, 6 years of updates, and an IP54 rating
Just a little over a week after announcing the Galaxy A16 5G, Samsung has launched a 4G version that it simply calls the Galaxy A16. The 4G version shares an almost identical design with the 5G variant and even has almost the same specifications save for the processor.

Details here
The Galaxy A16 4G has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by MediaTek's Helio G99 processor, the same chipset in the Galaxy A15 4G (available on Amazon for $153). There's only one configuration for now and it has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage. However, we won't rule out the possibility of other configurations in other regions.
The rear cameras include a 50MP primary sensor, a 5MP ultrawide angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera. It also has a 13MP front-facing camera. The Galaxy A16 4G has dual SIM support, NFC, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Samsung has also equipped it with a 5,000mAh battery, despite being slimmer than its predecessor. It still supports 25W fast wired charging, but you don't get a charger in the box. It ships with Android 14, and like the 5G variant, it will also receive 6 OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates. It also has an IP54 dust and water resistance rating.
The Galaxy A16 4G will be available in Gray, Green, and Midnight Blue with a matte finish, although it does look like black. There's no info on how much it will cost but it should be cheaper than the Galaxy A16 5G which is priced at €249. Samsung says it will be available to buy in November in France.
