Samsung to decide Exynos 2500's fate in the coming days
Multiple reports until now have predicted the Galaxy S25 lineup will not include an Exynos model. There are rumours about Samsung looking at the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 to fill the void. However, a new report from Hankuyang says Samsung has still not given up on the Exynos 2500.
The report says Samsung will decide the Exynos 2500's fate between 'the end of this month and the starting of next month'. This will depend on Samsung 3GAP yields, which have been reported to be abysmally low. However, Samsung stated earlier it is working hard to improve that and we should know within a few days if it resulted in anything meaningful.
Earlier this year, Samsung confirmed the Exynos 2500 taped out on an unspecified '3 nm' node, and even mentioned the chip by name in one of its financial reports. The chip was later spotted on a benchmarking platform with a 10-core CPU and a next-gen RDNA3-based Radeon iGPU that delivered respectable generation-over-generation performance compared to the Exynos 2400.
