Vivo X200 and X200 Pro launch with Dimensity 9400, Zeiss cameras, and large batteries
Vivo has officially introduced the X200 series in China. The lineup has three smartphones, with two Pro models and one standard phone. Among the two Pro phones, there's a Mini version that we've already covered separately. As for the other two, the standard is the most affordable one in the series.
Regardless of the relatively lower price than the others, it comes with flagship specs, with the Dimensity 9400 being the main highlight. This is MediaTek's first 3 nm mobile chipset and the second flagship SoC with no efficiency scores. Per recent reports, the chip can offer good scores in synthetic benchmarks, which should also lead to better real-world performance than the predecessor.
Besides the chipset, the Vivo X200 has a triple-camera setup on the back, with all of them being 50 MP sensors. They all have Zeiss T* optics, but the X200 Pro gets a better camera setup. It features a 200 MP periscope telephoto sensor, which is the same one that the X100 Ultra sports.
The X200 Pro also gets the same Vivo V3+ imaging chip as the X100 Ultra. Its primary camera is the Sony LYT-818 with a custom f/1.57 lens and 1/1.28-inch sensor size. On paper, it is a step down from the 1-inch primary sensor of the X100 Ultra, but Vivo claims that it can rival the bigger sensors in terms of photo and video quality.
On the front, the standard X200 has a 6.67-inch display, while the X200 Pro has a 6.78-inch LTPO screen. Both of them have a 120 Hz variable refresh rate, a maximum brightness rating of up to 4500 nits, and support for HDR10+. The front of the two also has a 32 MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
Price and availability of the Vivo X200 and X200 Pro
The Vivo X200 starts at CNY 4,299 (about $604), while the maxed-out configuration with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage is CNY 5,499 (around $772). As for the X200 Pro, it starts at CNY 5,299 (approximately $744), whereas the top-end configuration with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB storage costs CNY 6,499 (about $913).
Vivo has yet to provide details on global pricing and availability, but the X100 series was launched in the global market right after its Chinese debut. So, the X200 lineup could launch outside China soon.
