A new leak says AMD plans to unveil its first Zen 5 X3D CPU soon. This time, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D will be the first to show up and come with a hefty price tag.

Previous leaks indicated AMD's Zen 5-based Ryzen 9000 X3D CPUs would surface sometime in October. Unlike last time, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is slated to debut first, with the Ryzen 9 9900X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D tipped for a 2025 reveal. A well-known Chiphell leaker has now revealed an exact launch date.

AMD will supposedly unveil the Ryzen 7 9800X3D on October 25, with sales to commence in the first week of November. Its frequency will be 'quite high', but the poster hasn't made it clear if it will be higher than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D or Ryzen 7 9700X. An earlier benchmark showed off an all-core boost of 5.2 GHz, meaning a single could could potentially go as high as 5.5 GHz.

Furthermore, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D will not be cheap, but this could likely be referring to local prices with taxes included. There are conflicting reports about the performance upgrades bought forth by Zen 5 X3D SKUs. Supposed slides from MSI's first-party testing highlight a paltry 13% performance improvement in Far Cry 6, but it doesn't specify which model Nevertheless, it shouldn't be long before we find out for sure.
