A new leak has shed light on everything about the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. It keeps its predecessor's core count, L3 cache and TDP, but comes with marginally higher boost clocks.

Over the past few weeks, a slew of leaks helped us piece together various specifications of AMD's upcoming Ryzen 7 9800X3D. While its October 25 launch rumour didn't pan out as anticipated, the sheer number of leaks suggest it is coming soon. Now, Videocardz has spotted the entire CPU's spec sheet on Geizhals.

It essentially tells us what we already knew. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D comes with 1 CCD with 8 Zen 5 cores, 120 Watts TDP, 96 MB of L3 cache (64 MB on 3D V-cache), a base clock of 4.7 GHz and a boost clock of 5.2 GHz. It supports up to 192 GB of DDR5 RAM at JEDEC specs, although you can easily push it to 8,000 MT/s with the right kit/motherboard.

Additionally, the chip will be the first of its kind to support proper overclocking thanks to its reversed structure where the Cache tile is above the CCD. TJMax is set at 95 degrees Celsius so you may need a beefy cooler to go with your Ryzen 7 9800X3D if you plan on overclocking it. AMD does not provide a cooler in the retail packaging.

Other notable Ryzen 7 9800X3D specs include a a 2 CU RDNA2 iGPU clocked at 2.2 GHz, 24 PCIe Gen5 lanes. The CPU will work with all previous-gen AM5 boards such as A620, B650 and X670. Lastly, the listing predicts a November 7 sale date for the CPU with what looks like a placeholder price.
