AMD seems to have discontinued Ryzen 7 5800X3D and Ryzen 5 5600X3D CPUs
It looks like the popular X3D CPUs from the 5000X3D line up have reached the end of their cycle. AMD seems to have pulled the plugged on the production, and the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and Ryzen 5 5600X3D are becoming hard to find.
On Amazon US, the 5800X3D has no buying options at the time of writing. Similarly, the 5600X3D can no longer be purchased on Micro Center US. On the other hand, the Ryzen 5700X3D is still available (curr .$194.00 on Amazon). As the stock is drying up, the prices of the remaining few CPUs have surged, as per a recent report on Computer Base.
In addition to this, prices of the Ryzen 7000X3D have risen quite a bit. At the moment, the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is selling for $479 on Amazon US, which is the full retail price. We had a quick look at the price history on CamelCamelCamel, and the current $479 price seems to be on the higher side. Plus, it looks like the prices have surged around mid-September.
Upon release, these X3D processors created quite a buzz in the gaming community, thanks to their innovative 3D V-Cache technology. These Zen 3 CPUs were the last addition to the AM4 socket.
Back in August 2024, AMD released it’s Zen 5 CPUs, that is, the Ryzen 9000 series. Following the release of the CPUs, X870 and X870E motherboards with the new AM5 socket were also released. And now, AMD is looking forward to much-speculated AMD Ryzen 9000X3D series.
While the official announcement is yet to happen, online speculations suggest that AMD is gearing up to release 9800X3D, 9900X3D, and 9950X3D.
