The Galaxy A56 5G is projected to launch as a mid-range Android smartphone with potentially significant upgrades compared to its predecessor. They finally include a wired charging speed boost, according to a new leak. Presuming it proves accurate, the spec would put the A56 on par with one of the top-end Galaxy S24 series in that respect.

The Galaxy A series contains some of the most popular mid-range Android smartphones out there, thanks in part to the ability to resemble their higher-end S-series counterparts as much as possible with relatively clean triple rear camera rings and displays with a good chance of AMOLED across the range.

Nevertheless, their wired charging speed has been held back generation on generation to Samsung's older, slower 25W technology, even in the line's current A55 5G flagship (now available for $299.99 on Amazon).

That drawback might finally be a thing of the past in its upcoming successor, however. It has reportedly been registered with the Chinese Quality Certification Center as the SM-A5660 (which might indeed be the Chinese version of the Galaxy A56 5G) with the ability to charge at up to 10 volts (V) and 4.5 amps (A).

Therefore, it seems that the Galaxy A56 might indeed be the first device of its line to launch as a Samsung Super Fast Charging smartphone.
