France's authorities now require portable personal electronics OEMs to file Reparability Index reports for each new device they plan to launch, in order to comply with new guidelines that stipulate that consumers should be able to maintain their own devices to at least some extent.
Accordingly, the latest evidence of the Galaxy A56 5G's existence comes courtesy of Samsung itself, as the smartphone behemoth has now submitted an Index report for the upcoming smartphone.
Interestingly, the device has done worse compared to its A55 5G predecessor, as the former has been found to be harder to take apart than the latter. That might make for a less than glowing reception on channels such as PBKReviews or JerryRigEverything - but might also mean that it has improved water and/or dust resistance.
Nevertheless, it has scored 8.4 out of 10, compared to 8.5 for the A55 5G (now available for $279.99 on Amazon).
Meanwhile, the A56 5G is also said to be 'smarter' than the previous generation (or smarter in a different way, at least). That new rumor is based on observations that Samsung has registered the new trademark "Awesome Intelligence" in the US, EU and South Korea.
It might describe a new feature optimized for Samsung's next round of mid-rangers, as its new name matches that of other Galaxy A-specific branding such as that for its color choices.
Should that be the case, it makes sense for it to hit the A56 5G first, as it will probably be the highest-end new member of the line-up in 2025 that will also be one of its inaugural 45W Super Fast Charging devices.
