Realme 14x set to debut soon as Android smartphone with IP69 durability for under $200
Realme has now announced that successors to its 13 series of smartphones will become official soon, although it is starting with what might be its most budget option.
The spiritual successor to the affordable yet stylish 12x (as found on Amazon.in for INR 12,690 (~$150) with 8GB of RAM) will debut on December 18, 2024. It will also start selling on that day for prices that, as Realme hints, will start close to ~INR 14,999 (~$177).
The 14x is now officially slated to come with the same IP69 rating as its flagship GT 7 Pro counterpart nonetheless, although the 2 devices will look almost nothing alike.
The affordable-grade smartphone has now been confirmed to have a "Diamond Design" rear panel with a camera hump quite like that of the Oppo Reno12, although it already seems that only 2 of its 3 lens cut-outs will be functional.
The substantial departure from the 13 series' Monet Design will indeed be available in red, black or gold colorways. Realme has yet to release any further 14x teasers, although there are already hints that the smartphone will have a flat display (with somewhat of a chin) to go with its on-trend flat frame.
