Global Realme GT 7 Pro misses out on the bigger battery of its Chinese counterpart
Realme is among the first Chinese manufacturers to launch a Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship outside China. The newly introduced GT 7 Pro is confirmed to hit the Indian market on November 26. However, as the company has just revealed, it won't have the same exact specs as its Chinese counterpart.
More specifically, the Indian Realme GT 7 Pro is confirmed to feature a 5,800 mAh battery, down from the much bigger 6,500 mAh cell found in the Chinese variant. This isn't the first time manufacturers have released their flagship phones outside China with a lower battery capacity.
The iQoo 13, which is another newly introduced Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship phone, is also coming to the Indian market with a lower battery capacity. Of course, the downgrade isn't that significant for iQoo's offering. The Indian variant is launching with a 6,000 mAh battery instead of a 6,150 mAh cell.
However, for the Realme GT 7 Pro, the difference is 700 mAh, which would lead to lower battery runtime in stress tests and day-to-day usage (Anker PowerCore 10K power bank curr. $18.99 on Amazon). The good part is that the Indian variant retains the 120W fast charging support, and the other specs are expected to remain the same.
It's still unclear whether the phone will be released in other markets with the same battery capacity as the Indian variant, but that will most likely depend on regional standards. The EU, for example, has a different set of standards for smartphone batteries than China.
But then again, Realme has already manufactured a different version of the GT 7 Pro for the Indian market, and manufacturers don't usually make distinct variants for different regions. So, it's highly likely that the same Indian variant will be hitting the other markets.
