Xiaomi has started to officially tease the Redmi K80 series. This lineup is expected to debut soon in China and will initially introduce two phones. The standard variant is said to feature the last-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the Pro will reportedly pack the new Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Ahead of the formal announcement, the Redmi K80 Pro has allegedly appeared on Geekbench with the model number "Xiaomi 24122RKC7C." As one of the early benchmark runs shows, the Snapdragon 8 Elite phone didn't achieve impressive single-core and multi-core scores.
To be precise, in that specific run, the K80 Pro got 2,753 points in single-core and 8,460 in multi-core. These aren't the highest scores that a Snapdragon 8 Elite has achieved, but they are in line with some of the other recently launched flagships. The Nubia Z70 Ultra, for example, was also recently spotted on Geekbench, and it scored 3,203 and 10,260 points, respectively.
But then again, this is a very early Geekbench listing, and it's possible that the Redmi K80 Pro will perform better in the benchmark after it's released, possibly with further optimizations. Xiaomi has yet to reveal the specs of the upcoming affordable flagship phones, but it has recently teased that there will be major upgrades.
A recent Weibo teaser has also confirmed that the Redmi K80 series will sport a 2K display with full DC dimming support. The upcoming lineup is expected to feature wireless charging as well, which would be the first in the series (20W Iniu MagSafe wireless power bank curr. $28.99 on Amazon).
