The Redmi K80 Pro is thought to debut with the same top-end new processor as the Xiaomi 15 Pro. However, it will not have the same display, according to a new tip. The leak also purports to confirm how the flagship-grade Android smartphone will look in one of its three alleged color choices.

The Redmi K series of Android smartphones originally started out as a range of distinctively-styled flagship killers - however, its upcoming next-gen Pro model is now believed to emerge with the same combination of a flat display with ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, metallic mid-frame and corner-mounted camera hump as the iQoo 13, OnePlus 13 and Realme GT7 Pro before it.

The K80 Pro is backed to have the new Snapdragon 8 Elite in common with those cutting-edge devices, too - which means it will also be equal to the 15 Pro from Redmi parent Xiaomi in this respect. However, that does not necessarily mean that the 2 devices will be exactly similar.

The 15 Pro debuted with a 2K display, and the K80 Pro is now said to do the same - however, the latter is now tipped to have an LTPS panel from TCL subsidiary CSOT, while that of the former is LTPO and, therefore, potentially superior in terms of power-efficiency and refresh rate adaptability.

Then again, that difference could make the K80 Pro the more affordable handset of the two. That could be interesting, particularly if it hits the global market as a successor to the Poco F6 Pro that is now available for just $475 on Amazon.
