Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered Asus ROG Phone 9 achieves record-breaking AnTuTu score
Asus has just announced the ROG Phone 9 series. The new lineup brings a range of improvements, including the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Paired with an improved cooling setup, both the standard and Pro variants stand as strong contenders for those who are looking for performance-focused flagships.
On the note of performance, the non-Pro variant beat the RedMagic 10 Pro+ in AnTuTu, which recently got a record-breaking score. As shared by AnTuTu, the ROG Phone 9 was able to achieve 3,121,390 points in the benchmark, the current highest score achieved by a Snapdragon 8 Elite phone.
For reference, with an average score of 2,926,644, the OnePlus 13 was the top-scoring device in the last flagship phone ranking of AnTuTu. This suggests that the Asus ROG Phone 9 could very well secure the first spot in next month's chart.
It's worth noting that the RedMagic 10 Pro+ had a better CPU score in its record-breaking benchmark run. However, the ROG Phone 9 was able to beat it with a reasonably higher score in the UX department, thanks to featuring a 185 Hz refresh rate. RedMagic's gaming smartphone, on the other hand, has a 144 Hz screen.
Still, the overall score difference between the two isn't much, as the RedMagic 10 Pro+ was able to get 3,116,126 points in that specific run. So, both are pretty much in the same league.
Getting back to the ROG Phone 9, besides the Snapdragon 8 Elite and a high refresh rate screen, the smartphone equips a balanced camera setup, a larger battery, and 65W fast charging support (Anker Nano 65W curr. $39.99 on Amazon). You can learn more about it from our launch coverage.
