Smartphones with Qualcomm's new, late-2024 top-end silicon have only just started to become available on the international market; however, that does not stop prominent leakers from discussing the Snapdragon 8 Elite's successor already.
Devices such as the Realme GT 7 Pro, iQoo 13 and ROG Phone 9 are backed to confidently lay claim to world-beating benchmarking scores such as 3,000,000 or more in the AnTuTu tests of performance. However, their successors are now tipped to improve on those results by 20% if not more, according to Digital Chat Station.
The "Gen 2" is thought to do so even though it will still be based on a 3nm architecture from TSMC - although Digital Chat Station now purports to confirm that it will be that chip supplier's N3P process rather than the N3E of the current Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Qualcomm has been said to have some of Samsung's competing SF2 process in the mix for its second-gen Elite (back when it had been thought of as the "Snapdragon 8 Gen 5"); however, it might have been phased out at this stage of its production, meaning it might be all-TSMC for the foreseeable future.
Meanwhile, Apple's next-gen A19 Pro that might feature in projected Realme GT 8 Pro rivals such as the iPhone 17 Pro Max and/or 17 Air.
