Redmi K80 Pro: New Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship available globally for as low as $599 via import
The Redmi K80 Pro launched as an affordable flagship phone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite in China, and it's expected to launch outside the Chinese market as the Poco F7 Ultra. Ahead of Xiaomi announcing the international launch, Giztop has made it available to all regions.
Of course, there's a catch. It's available on the third-party store through import. As with any other Chinese smartphone the Giztop sells, you will get the Redmi K80 Pro with the Chinese firmware. The good part is that Xiaomi HyperOS has support for English, and the store says that the device will ship with Google Mobile Service pre-installed.
However, some features that work on global variants, such as Android Auto, may not be accessible from the get-go. You also need to consider the network bands the Redmi K80 Pro is compatible with, as not all Chinese variants are known for having wide compatibility. One good thing about this phone is that Xiaomi has confirmed that the device supports 19 5G frequency bands.
Another big consideration is the warranty. Even though Giztop appears to have a decent policy in that regard, if anything happens to the phone, you will need to ship it to them. Compared to claiming the warranty of a smartphone that's officially available in your region, that's an extra step.
Other than that, Giztop's pricing on the Redmi K80 Pro is good, especially considering that it's a Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship phone. The base configuration with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB of storage is $599. This same configuration of the smartphone launched at CNY 3,699 (around $510) in China.
