Redmi is now thought to build on the success of the K70 Extreme Edition (or Xiaomi 14T Pro for the global market) with an even more powerful smartphone called the K80 Ultra. However, other brands are currently working on challengers with the same updated top-end MediaTek Dimensity-series silicon - except for Honor, which has other ideas for its upcoming "GT Pro".

Honor has just launched the GT as its latest flagship-killing Android smartphone - however, it might become overshadowed by a Pro counterpart with upgrades such as Qualcomm's current top-end Snapdragon 8 Elite platform.

It might debut in mid-2025 so as to compete with the K80 Ultra, according to prolific leaker Digital Chat Station - even though Redmi's next-gen flagship might be powered by a newer chipset instead: a direct successor to MediaTek's Dimensity 9300+ processor.

The K70 Extreme Edition successor is already thought to face more challengers from multiple brands, OnePlus and Realme included, all of which might come with the same iterative flagship processor upgrade.

That first wave of Dimensity 9400+ powerhouse smartphones are thought to have displays of at least 1.5K in resolution and batteries of 6,000mAh to 7,000mAh in capacity.

The K80 Ultra might also re-brand as a successor to the Xiaomi 14T Pro, currently available for $685 on Amazon.
