Redmi K80 Ultra: Dimensity 9400 Plus, large battery, and other highlights leaked

The Redmi K80 series was released in November in China. The series features two models: the standard Redmi K80 and the K80 Pro. As with the previous Redmi K series smartphones, the K80 lineup is expected to get an Ultra model. A new leak has surfaced online, revealing key specifications of the Redmi K80 Ultra.

The previous-gen Redmi K70 Ultra was launched in July in China. Therefore, we can expect a similar launch timeframe for the K80 Ultra. The latest leak from Digital Chat Station reveals that the prototype of the K80 Ultra has a flat OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution. For comparison, the vanilla K80 and K80 Pro models have a 2K resolution display, so there is a high probability that the K80 Ultra ends up having a 2K resolution as well. The tipster claims the display on the Ultra has “extremely narrow” bezels. 

Additionally, the leak suggests the phone will be powered by the Dimensity 9400 Plus chipset. It is expected to be an overclocked version of the Dimensity 9400 chipset, which has powered many flagships, including the Vivo X200 lineup. The K70 Ultra featured the Dimensity 9300 Plus SoC, hence it is likely that Redmi will stick to Dimensity for the Ultra model. 

The battery is expected to be another highlight of the K80 Ultra. The previous-gen K70 Ultra featured a 5,500mAh battery capacity. This may change, as the leak suggests the K80 Ultra will have at least a 6,500mAh battery capacity. Other leaked highlights include a metal frame, IP68 rating, and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. 

The Redmi K70 Ultra was rebranded to Xiaomi 14T Pro for the global market. Thus, we expect the K80 Ultra to arrive in international markets as Xiaomi 15T Pro.
