Xiaomi is expected to launch the Redmi K80 Ultra in the coming months. After that will come the Redmi K90 series, and new leaks have now revealed some information on the next-gen sub-premium lineup well ahead of their release.
As shared by Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is preparing upgraded cameras for the Redmi K90 series. The Redmi K series has never been camera-centric, but that could change this year with Xiaomi seemingly set to equip the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro with improved main and telephoto cameras. Reportedly, the phones may even feature periscope lenses—much like the vanilla Xiaomi 16 has also been tipped to.
In addition to those, the Redmi K90 series is said to be larger than its predecessors. Supposedly, Xiaomi will ditch the 6.67-inch display it's used over the past few years in favor of a 6.8-inch screen.
Lastly, the vanilla Redmi K90 is touted to be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Elite, keeping with the trend of launching the non-Pro model with Qualcomm's last-gen flagship chipset. The phones will also benefit from the higher energy density offered by silicon-carbon batteries, with current prototypes said to be equipped with 7000 mAh units.
