The Redmi K80 series was released in November 2024 in China. It is a sub-flagship smartphone lineup from the Chinese company. A new leak has now surfaced online suggesting the successor to the K80 series will launch sooner than expected.
Tipster Digital Chat Station revealed that the K90 series will be released in October, meaning it may launch a month earlier than expected. At the time of writing, the company has not revealed any information officially. Similar to the K80 series, we expect at least two models to launch initially, the K90 and the K90 Pro.
The Redmi K series is known for its performance-oriented devices. Previous leaks have suggested that the standard Redmi K90 may bring a new custom chipset, developed in collaboration with Qualcomm. While the K80 Pro may feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. The Pro model may also feature an advanced camera setup with a 50MP periscope telephoto lens.
The Redmi K series is limited to the Chinese market. However, Xiaomi rebrands many Redmi K series phones for the international markets. For example, the Redmi K70 was rebranded as the Poco F6 Pro, and hence the K90 may launch as the Poco F8 Pro in the global market.
For now, the company is expected to bring the Poco F7 series in the global market. The F7 is expected to be a rebranded Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, and the F7 Pro is likely going to be the doppelganger of the Redmi K80.
