Xiaomi has announced its latest Redmi 14C 5G smartphone in India. Xiaomi’s affordable 5G smartphone comes with a large 6.88-inch display, a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, a 50 MP primary camera, and a 5,160 mAh battery, among other features.

Xiaomi has unveiled a new entry-level smartphone, the Redmi 14C 5G, in India. It comes as a successor to the budget-friendly Redmi 13C 5G smartphone, which debuted last year. A Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset sits at the heart of the device. It packs 4/6 GB of RAM and 64/128 GB of internal storage with room for storage expansion of up to 1 TB via microSD card.

The main highlight of the smartphone is its large display. The device features a large 6.88-inch IPS LCD display that outputs at 1600 x 720 pixels with 600 nits peak brightness and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This is a significant upgrade over the Redmi 13C’s (currently at $122 on Amazon) 6.74-inch 90 Hz display. However, there’s no change in display resolution, which is still at HD+.

The device retains the same camera specs as its predecessor. It has a dual rear camera setup at the back consisting of a 50 MP primary camera and a secondary unknown camera sensor. It has an 8 MP (up from 5 MP) shooter on the front for capturing selfies and video chats.

The Redmi 14C 5G houses a 5,160 mAh battery that supports 18 W wired charging. It runs Android 14-based Xiaomi HyperOS out of the box, and Xiaomi promises two major Android updates (Android 15, 16) and four years of security patches. Speaking about dimensions, the handset measures 171.8 x 77.8 x 8.2 mm (HWT) (6.76 x 3.06 x 0.32 inches) and weighs 205 grams (0.45 lbs).

Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, an IP52 splash and dust resistance rating, up to 6 GB of RAM expansion, and dual 5G SIM support.

Available in Starlight Blue, Stardust Purple, and Stargaze Black colorways, the Redmi 14C 5G is priced at INR 10,000 (~$116) for the base 4 GB + 64 GB model, and the 6 GB + 128 GB variant costs INR 12,000 (~$140). The smartphone will be available via Xiaomi’s official website and Amazon India starting from 10th January.
