Android 15-based OxygenOS 15 stable update rolls out to the OnePlus 12 globally

There was a time when OnePlus was among the first manufacturers to roll out a new Android update to its devices. Unfortunately, that changed a couple of years back. Now it seems the good old days have returned as OnePlus has began rolling out OxygenOS 15 which is based on Android 15 to the OnePlus 12.

The update, which is rolling out to users in all regions (India, North America, Europe, and Global), arrives just a few weeks after the Android 15 stable update was released for the Pixel phones. As usual, the update is rolling out in batches with a wider roll-out planned for the rest of the week.

The changelog is pretty detailed but there are a few worth mentioning. For starters, users should notice improvements in animations thanks to a new system graphics engine. There are also new icons, wallpapers, and themes as well as new Always-On Displays and Lock screen clock styles.

OxygenOS 15 also brings a change to how to access notifications and Quick Settings menu: a top left swipe will allow you access the notifications menu while a top right swipe will pull down the revamped Quick Settings menu. The new software also brings a charging limit feature that stops charging the phone when it reaches 80%. OnePlus says this should help extend battery life and minimize degradation.

OnePlus says it has also added categories to files stored in the Private Safe and added a shortcut to the Home screen for quick access to hidden apps. In addition to Android 15's easter egg, there's also OnePlu's own easter egg in the calculator app which can be viewed when you input 1+=.

While OxygenOS 15 brings several new features, refinements, and enhancements, to the OnePlus 12 (curr. available on Amazon for $649.99) there are no AI-related features. This is because the AI-related features, which include AI Notes and AI Unblur, are still under testing. However, they will eventually be released by the end of the month.
