The new OnePlus 13T has been unleashed on the Chinese market, touted as having advantages as an unusually compact ~6.3-inch display form-factor for a premium Android smartphone, a battery that seems disproportionately huge as a result and bypass charging. However, the brand has revealed that some of its customers don't have to buy its latest device to avail of the latter.
The feature is touted to let a smartphone draw from a power source without charging the battery, which might prevent overheating during a heavy mobile gaming session. It is unlocked as part of the latest software upgrade for the 13R, OnePlus' latest 'flagship killer' Android smartphone for the international market.
The new firmware also imparts the brand's latest custom clock widgets, a partial screen recording feature and the April 2025 security patch. It is also rated to allow a 13R user to connect their smartphone to a PC from Apple, which enables file viewing and sharing on the Mac in question.
OnePlus does not specify whether this new form of PC Connect is wired only or also wireless. However, it does note that the new software update, known as OxygenOS 15.0.0.801 for the 13R, is only being rolled out in an "incremental" fashion throughout the Indian market (where it is available for INR 42,998 on Amazon.in) thus far.
