Nothing has just unlocked a new camera feature for its latest mid-range smartphones via software. It enables both devices to record telephoto video in 4K and at 30 frames per second (fps) - although only the Phone (3a) Pro will be doing so at 3x zoom with an up-to-date periscope zoom lens, of course.
The rest of the changelog for the update (known as Nothing OS v3.1-250417-1222) also pertains to the (3a) as well as the (3a) Pro (now $699.99 on Amazon).
It includes the addition of Privacy Space, which allows the user to 'hide' apps in an area found by swiping to the right in the app drawer (and may also be familiar to those who have owned OnePlus smartphones over the last few years).
The upgrade to the Android 15 skin also updates the Nothing X app for the brand's audio products to its 3.0 version, which adds compatibility with the new CMF Buds 2.
The update also brings the devices' security patch level right up to date at April 2025. It is projected to become available to "most" Phone (3a) series users over the coming days.
