Vivo has only just released the X200s and X200 Ultra after a long teaser campaign. In summary, both smartphones contain various upgrades over the existing X200 and X200 Pro, including a 35 mm primary camera for the X200 Ultra. Meanwhile, the X200s is one of the first smartphones to feature MediaTek's Dimensity 9400+ chipset, along with the Oppo Find X8s and Find X8s Plus.
Nonetheless, rumours have now emerged that Vivo is already preparing another X200 series refresh. This time the company is alleged to have developed the X200 FE, which is set to become official at the beginning of next season. Specifically, SmartPrix mentions a late June or early July release. However, it has not been more specific in this regard.
Apparently, the X200 FE has its roots in the X200 Pro mini. According to SmartPrix, the X200 FE will carry over features from the X200 Pro mini like its 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display, 50 MP primary, 50 MP telephoto and 50 MP front-facing cameras. The website claims that the X200 FE will miss out on the 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera found inside the X200 Pro mini though, as well as its MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset.
Instead, Vivo is believed to have adopted the Dimensity 9400e, which MediaTek has not announced yet. Based on its name alone, the Dimensity 9400e will likely be a less performant version of the Dimensity 9400, just as the inverse is true with the Dimensity 9400+. In other words, the X200 FE will likely perform worse than other high-end compact smartphones like the new OnePlus 13T and the existing Galaxy S25 (curr. $779.99 on Amazon). As it stands, Vivo is only expected to deliver the X200 FE in India where the X200 Pro mini remains unavailable.
