Vivo has announced a upgraded version of the X200, equipping the flagship phone with three 50 MP Zeiss cameras, a much larger 6,200 mAh battery and the more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9400+. Despite having a larger battery, the Vivo X200s manages to stay relatively thin.

The Vivo X200s is an enhanced version of the X200. Whilst its design remains largely unchanged, Vivo has replaced the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 with the slightly faster MediaTek Dimensity 9400+. The previous 5,800 mAh battery has also been upgraded to a considerably larger 6,200 mAh battery, which now supports up to 40-watt wireless charging alongside 90-watt charging over USB-C.

Despite the larger battery, the Vivo X200s retains the same 7.99 mm (0.31 in) thickness and weighs just 205 g (7.23 oz). The 6.67-inch 120 Hz AMOLED display can achieve a peak brightness of 5,000 nits and has a resolution of 2,800 x 1,260. The 32 MP f/2.0 selfie camera sits within a punch hole in the centre of the top edge. It supports a “Dynamic Island”-esque feature that allows active background tasks, such as a timer or navigation app, to be displayed in the area around the punch hole. Meanwhile, the 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is seamlessly embedded beneath the display.

The large, round camera module on the back houses an f/1.6 main shooter with a 1/1.56-inch sensor, an f/2.0 ultrawide camera with a 1/1.76-inch sensor, and an f/2.6 telephoto camera with a 1/1.95-inch sensor featuring 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilisation. All three cameras share the same 50 MP resolution, are equipped with premium Zeiss lenses, and can record 4K videos and 1080p slow-motion footage.

Price and availability

In China, the Vivo X200s starts at ¥4,199 (~$575) for the base model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash storage. The top-tier model comes with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage and will set you back ¥5,499 (~$753). Vivo has yet to provide any information on the X200s’ pricing and availability in other regions.
