OnePlus smartphones to get Microsoft Phone Link via OxygenOS 14
Microsoft Phone Link has come to OnePlus smartphones, according to the OEM's latest official community feature preview. The Redmond giant's own-brand cross-device integration service is backed to eliminate the temptation to keep picking your mobile device up while you're supposed to be working on your PC.
It does so by mixing connected smartphone notification prompts into the Windows UI, so that a OnePlus user can check or open them in their own time. Similarly, the PC can be used to take the mobile device's calls (or not) or to check the contents of its entire display if necessary via screen mirroring.
Microsoft Phone Link for OnePlus smartphones will can also be set to open a photo gallery automatically, which is rated to make selecting or clearing images out easier, and also allows the user to transplant them right into emails or even onto PowerPoint slides.
It will debut along with other new OxygenOS 14 (OOS 14) features such as File Dock, Smart Cutout and the Trinity Engine on the imminent release of the software upgrade's stable version. Accordingly, eligibility for the new first-party integration service depends on a given device's place on the current beta roadmap, although the feature is backed for a quick and easy set-up once it is available.
