HMD has begun the roll out of Android 15, starting with the HMD Pulse Pro, and the Android OS upgrade is expected to arrive on more of the manufacturer's devices. If you are wondering if your device will get the update, HMD has reportedly released a list that includes both HMD-branded devices as well as Nokia-branded ones.
The devices according to a post shared on X by @smash_60 are:
- Nokia G42
- Nokia G60
- Nokia XR21
- Nokia X30
- HMD Pulse Pro
- HMD Pulse+
- HMD Pulse
- HMD Crest
- HMD Crest Max
- HMD Fusion
- HMD Skyline
- HMD XR21
- HMD T21
We cross-checked this list with the software support information on each device's product page which mentions the number of OS upgrades they will receive, and most of them check out. However, HMD didn't state on the product pages of the Crest and Crest Max the number of OS upgrades they will receive, so it isn't certain if they will be updated to Android 15. Both devices launched with Android 14 out of the box.
The Android 15 update will be the last Android OS upgrade for many of these devices such as the Nokia G42, Nokia G60, Nokia X30, Nokia XR21, HMD XR21, and HMD T21 (curr. available on Amazon for $199.99). The rest still have one more OS upgrade, which is Android 16 before their end of support. Android 16 is expected to be released in the second quarter of 2025.
It is also interesting to note that the Nokia T21 is not on the list while the HMD T21 which is a rebadge of the Nokia T21, is on the list. This isn't the case with the Nokia XR21 and its twin, the HMD XR21. That's because, the Nokia T21 launched with Android 12 and was promised only two OS upgrades while the HMD T21 launched with Android 13 with the promise of two OS upgrades. So while the Nokia T21 has received its last OS upgrade in the form of Android 14, the HMD T21's last OS upgrade is Android 15.
