Realme Neo 7 launches as affordable sub-flagship phone with 7,000 mAh battery
Realme has officially launched the Neo 7, the successor to the GT Neo 6. One of the main highlights of this new sub-flagship smartphone is the large-sized 7,000 mAh battery. This makes the phone stand among the very few performance-focused devices with a high battery capacity.
As Realme previously shared, this battery was co-developed with CATL, and such a high capacity allows the Neo 7 to offer up to 23 hours of continuous video playback, 14 hours of video call, and 22 hours of map navigation. Now, even though the phone features a battery with higher capacity than its predecessor, it's slimmer than the GT Neo 6.
To be specific, the Realme Neo 7 measures 8.5 mm thick, while the predecessor comes with an 8.6 mm thick body. Of course, the battery isn't the only highlight of this new sub-flagship. It's powered by the Dimensity 9300+, which is the last-gen flagship SoC from MediaTek.
With this performance-focused SoC, the Neo 7 will stand as the direct competitor to the OnePlus 13R in the international market. On the front, the new Realme phone sports a 6.78-inch LTPO display with FHD+ resolution, up to 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness rating of 6,000 nits.
The front also houses an optical in-display fingerprint reader and a 16 MP selfie camera. On the back, there's a dual-camera setup, with the primary camera being the Sony IMX882 50 MP sensor. It's paired with an 8 MP ultrawide, but unlike the primary sensor, the secondary doesn't have OIS.
Other highlights of the Realme Neo 7 include WiFi 7, a large VC cooling setup, Bluetooth 5.4, an IP69 rating, and 80 W fast-charging support (100 W Anker Prime curr. $45.99 on Amazon). The starting price in China is CNY 2,199 (about $302), and given that the predecessor officially made it outside the Chinese market, this new phone is also expected to make a global debut.
