Realme Neo7: Brand-first 7,000mAh smartphone set to start at just under $350
Realme's first ever 7,000mAh battery smartphone is set to be made official from tomorrow (December 11, 2024). However, an online retailer has slipped up and outed the Neo7's starting price and appearance in advance, according to legendary leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS).
According to this alleged store screenshot, the device will start at just 2,498 yuan (~$345), perhaps with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, despite its upgrades. They include a 6.78-inch, 1.5K display with the same 8T LTPO technology as other recent smartphones that were more expensive on their launch.
The Neo7 is also now tipped to pack a 7700mm² vapor chamber for its Dimensity 9300+ SoC in a chassis with flagship-grade IP68-69 ratings, an IR blaster and NFC.
It will, however, have flat sides made of plastic rather than metal (possibly in order to keep its price as low as now predicted).
The smartphone is also now tipped to look much like its predecessor the GT Neo6, albeit with a slightly different moulding to its rear panel that results in a nearly flat camera hump and new blue, silver and black colorways.
Accordingly, the Neo7 might be looking good to some consumers in advance of its launch. Then again, DCS also now notes that its new extra-large battery will be restricted to a top charging speed of 80W, as opposed to 120W in its flagship 6,500mAh GT 7 Pro counterpart (still available for €799 on Amazon in Europe right now).
