Realme GT Neo6 SE launches to rival OnePlus Ace 3V with Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 and extremely bright display
Realme has finally released its latest mid-range smartphone, which it has started selling in China as the GT Neo6 SE. To recap, the company began teasing the handset in late March when it outlined that it would be the first smartphone to offer a 6,000-nit display. Unsurprisingly, this value only applies to a tiny area of the GT Neo6 SE's display.
Now, Realme has confirmed that the GT Neo6 SE should deliver 1,600 nits across its 6.78-inch panel. The company adds that it has sourced the OLED panel from BOE, which has supplied its S1 variant that also outputs at 2,780 x 1,264 pixels with a 120 Hz refresh rate and an LTPO backplane for providing variable refresh rates. On top of that, Realme has covered the large display with Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which is currently the toughest glass that Corning sells.
Moreover, the GT Neo6 SE contains a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Plus Gen 3 chipset, which Qualcomm debuted at the end of March. Incidentally, this is the same chipset that powers the OnePlus Ace 3V. The GT Neo6 SE is significantly cheaper than its OnePlus equivalent though, despite supporting 100 W wired charging for its 5,500 mAh battery too, plus LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage.
Furthermore, Realme has equipped the GT Neo6 SE with a 50 MP primary camera (Sony IMX882) aided by OIS, as well as 8 MP ultra-wide-angle (Sony IMX355) and 32 MP front-facing cameras. Unfortunately, Realme has not commented yet on whether it will release the GT Neo6 SE internationally. For reference, the handset costs as follows in China:
- 8 GB RAM/256 GB storage - CNY 1,699 (~$235)
- 12 GB RAM/256 GB storage - CNY 1,899 (~$262)
- 16 GB RAM/256 GB storage - CNY 2,099 (~$290)
- 16 GB RAM/512 GB storage - CNY 2,399 (~$331)
