New Motorola Moto G04s smartphone released with budget credentials but modern Android 14 OS pre-installed
Motorola has plenty of new smartphones in the pipeline, with the Edge 50 series and Moto G64 set to receive releases on April 16. In the meantime, the company has presented the Moto G04s, a new entry-level model in the Moto G series. Additionally, the Moto G04s serves as an adjunct of sorts to the Moto G04 that debuted a few months ago.
Reading both specification sheets, it seems that Motorola has only distinguished the Moto G04s from the older Moto G04 in two areas. Specifically, the Moto G04s contains a 50 MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture and 0.64 µm wide pixels that it can improve to 1.28 µm using 4-in-1 pixel binning. The 5 MP front-facing camera remains though, as does the 6.56-inch, 720p and 90 Hz IPS display it sits within.
Conversely, the Moto G04s find itself with an NFC reader that the European version of the Moto G04 lacks. Moreover, Motorola continues to include a Unisoc Tiger T606 chipset, a 5,000 mAh battery and up to 8 GB of RAM. The Moto G04s has arrived first in the Eurozone, where it is available in four colours. At the time of writing, Motorola only sells the handset's entry-level 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM configuration, which retails for €119. However, the company plans to release the Moto G04s across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, too.
