Nokia 230, Nokia 6310 and Nokia 5310 Xpress Music receive 2024 upgrades with Bluetooth 5.0, larger batteries and USB Type-C connectivity
HMD Global has re-issued three Nokia feature phones with various overdue upgrades. For reference, the company has decided to release the following models, with hyperlinks where appropriate:
According to the company's product pages, all three feature phones utilise the Unisoc 6531F, an entry-level chipset that also powers the older Nokia 6310 (2021). Conversely, the Unisoc 6531F is new for the Nokia 230 and Nokia 5310 Xpress Music, which also provides Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. Additionally, the trio relies on 1,450 mAh batteries that can be recharged via USB Type-C ports, instead of the older MicroUSB standard that their predecessors supported.
HMD Global has equipped each feature phone with a 2G modem, though. Thus, the Nokia 230 (2024), Nokia 5310 Xpress Music (2024) and Nokia 6310 (2024) may not work in some regions or when paired with some cellular providers. Unfortunately, HMD Global has not provided any indication of when its new Nokia feature phones will be available, let alone for how much. With that being said, more hardware details can be found on the company's product pages, which we have linked above.
